From time to time someone asks us who the “typical” Maven is. Given the diversity of our membership, we tend to bristle at the question – we don’t really believe in the concept of a “typical” member. On the other hand, as technical people (and professional researchers) we are inclined to want to learn more about the folks who join our network, so last week we pulled some data from the Maven platform and immediately made three key observations about our members:
- They liked school. 83% of Mavens are college graduates, and a whopping 48% have advanced degrees!
- They put in their time. The median time a Maven has spent working in their industry is 15 years.
- They bring home the bacon. The average Maven makes over $220,000 per year; the median salary among our Members is $100,000 per year.
What else would you like to know about Maven’s participants? Send us your questions and we’ll do our best to respond.
