We’ve mentioned on multiple occasions how Maven helps our Members assist charitable causes by providing a platform to route their Maven earnings directly to a charity. We also showed you last month how organizations can leverage Maven’s unique referral system to actually accomplish fundraising goals.
At Maven, our desire to assist worthy causes runs very deep. In fact, in addition to the enabling tools we provide on the Maven platform, we also give directly of our own time and resources to many different causes. From building houses with Habitat for Humanity to supporting Pets for Patriots, Hedge Funds Care, the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Brain Tumor Association, the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, and many others, the Maven team gives back on a regular basis.
I’m personally very proud to be involved as a Director on the Board at Fostering Change for Children, an organization that’s truly driving positive change in the child welfare system. On a shoestring budget, this incredibly talented team created a breakthrough program, Children’s Corps that trains and places motivated and intelligent college graduates directly into child welfare caseworker jobs in a model similar to Teach For America. Many of the Children’s Corps caseworkers regularly share the difficulties and joys of their intense work on their blog; it’s indeed challenging, and there are some great people who are making a difference every single day.
If you’d like to meet some of the stars at Fostering Change for Children, please come on out to a social event we’re hosting in New York City on May 2. Even if you can’t make it, your support is definitely appreciated. For more information, please click here.
