Case Study: How Do You Mend a Broken Heart (Cardiac Technology Expert)
The Problem
Thanks to advancing technology, healthcare is improving all the time. With these improvements comes the benefit of customization and expedited treatment for patients. A marketing team for consumer healthcare products at a large pharmaceutical company thought they had a product that could be useful for patients and physicians in the cardiology space, but needed to understand some of the technical drivers for improved cardiology diagnostics and treatment in order to be sure of their product’s value. It was imperative for them to gather insights from clinicians who had firsthand experience with diagnostic and treatment methods in cardiology, especially in situations with high data output that needed to be managed.

The Solution
After speaking with their Maven Account Manager, it was decided that the team would most benefit by conducting a series of Telephone Consultations with Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons to discuss current methods and algorithms used for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases. Maven identified dozens of highly-qualified physicians and the team selected six candidates for interview, all who had strong research and technical backgrounds that made them ideal candidates for the topic. Through conducting Telephone Consultations, the team learned an incredible amount about how to improve their offering, but they also found out that some of the physicians would be participating in upcoming conferences on next generation technologies for cardiac care. The team asked to continue their engagement with four of the physicians on a periodic basis over several more months in order to learn more from these conferences, and was able to build off of their initial research to truly optimize their product offering for physicians and patients.
“We knew that Maven would deliver solid candidates, but we were still blown away by the quality! What a success!” – Corporate Strategy Director
