Case Study: Don’t Sweat the Technique (Materials Scientists)
Problem
A multinational food & beverage company wanted to learn about techniques employed in other industries for separating materials ie/ removing foreign matter from metals, so that they could continue to improve the efficiency of their methods. When deployed at scale, these small improvements can significantly lower manufacturing expenses.

The Solution
As this challenge required learning, rather than gathering insight or opinion, Maven scheduled three Telephone Consultations for the client to talk directly with qualified respondents. These professionals came from different backgrounds – mining, chemical engineering and mineral processing. All three had valuable insights to share, but one in particular explained techniques for material separation that the customer had not even heard about and was able to take back to her team for deeper analysis and possible integration into their manufacturing process.
“Paul was amazing…just as his resume said… he has some much experience, he blew everyone else out of the running. I spent one full hour with him, typing furiously everything he had to say. He came up with some excellent separation techniques that I hadn’t heard about so it was truly educational.”
