Case Study: Interpretation of the Results (Electrocardiogram Software Experts)
The Problem
A group of UCLA graduate students were conducting a research study and needed to learn more about buyer preferences of educational software aimed at training the interpretation of clinical tests. Specifically, the students wanted to understand and gather feedback on an electrocardiogram PALM device from those who teach ECG interpretation to medical students and residents. The team was knowledgeable on other software that performed similar functions to the ECG PALM; however, they wanted to gauge the capabilities and the underlying technologies of the PALM and where it ranked in comparison to the other devices on the market.

The Solution
Maven quickly launched an Electronic Survey seeking medical school educators and residency program directors with expertise in electrocardiogram interpretation software. The key was to find those who were the decision-makers who actually purchase the education tools for medical programming. The group received 50 solid responses from qualified participants. Pleased with the results, the group selected three of the qualified Mavens whose
survey responses were exceedingly impressive to conduct follow-up Telephone Consultations.
““Maven helped us have easily access to insights from medical educators all over the United States.
Without the help of Maven, we would not have been able to gather their insights to interpret whether
they would find this new educational tool helpful in teaching their students. In turn, Maven was a
valuable tool in our learning.”
Takeaway: Maven delivered a difficult-to-reach population quickly, bringing cost and time-efficiency to the team’s research process.
